2010 REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR FOOTBALL AND CHEER Head Coaches Needed
Feb 04 2010 - LS
Do you have a love of football? Do you have a knack for working with children? Do you like seeing children grow and learn? If so, then we've got a job for you!
We are currently accepting head coaching applications for all levels of football. Prior tackle football coaching experience is required for Jr Pee Wee and up. Prior tackle football coaching experience is preferred for Jr Mitey Mite and Mitey Mite levels. No experience is necessary for our Flag level. Training for all levels will be provided through various coaches clinics (both SV led and clinics led by non Pop Warner groups) and mentoring. All coaches must pass a background check, including Megan's Law. In years past, we've had to turn children away due to a lack of coaches. We do not wish for this to occur again in 2010, so please feel free to pass the word along to anyone whom you feel would be interested in leading a team in 2010. Questions regarding the coaching selection process can be directed to our Athletic Director, Leanne Sanchez at 949/338-6085. 2010 SV Cheer Registration

SVPW is excited to annouce our participation in CHALLENGER FOOTBALL and CHEER!
There are no registration fees for the participant! The mission of the Pop Warner Challenger Division is to bring the Pop Warner experience to those special needs individuals. Pop Warner’s overall goals are to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment and by establishing a Challenger Division Pop Warner is providing an opportunity for everyone to participate in the great game of football and cheer. Pop Warner objectives are to inspire our youth, regardless of race, creed, religion or national origin to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness as reflected in the life of the late Glenn Scobie “Pop” Warner. Pop Warner strives to make the game fun for all boys and girls. The program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing or spirit days of those involved, such as; self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and sportsmanship. The philosophy of the Pop Warner Challenger Division is to provide the framework for local Pop Warner programs to offer a structured football and cheerleading program for participants with special needs. The Challenger program is non-competitive and no score is kept. The games are modeled after a typical Pop Warner game with warm-ups, coin toss and national anthem etc. Participation in the Challenger Division is permitted at the request of the individual’s parent or guardian. The Pop Warner Challenger Division was pioneered and established in 2004 in East Greenbush in the Capital District Pop Warner League. At SVPW, our goal is to develop well rounded boys and girls who will not only learn the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of education, team work and sportsmanship. We pride ourselves on providing the youth of our community with a foundation of sportmanship and fellowship that they can carry with them throughout their lives.
Our association serves the following cities: Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Portola Hills, Foothill Ranch, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, and Aliso Viejo. We are proud to have partnered with two local High Schools to provide our teams with the opportunity to play on the turf and in some instances, under the lights! Our organization is run entirely by volunteers, most of whom have children in our football and cheer programs. Our teams are known as the BEARS, CHARGERS and WOLVERINES. We look forward to you joining our 'family'! |
